At Wisppal, we are committed to providing a safe and supportive space for creative writers of all backgrounds to share their work, exchange constructive feedback, and collaborate. We maintain a zero-tolerance stance against any form of child sexual abuse material (CSAM), child sexual exploitation and abuse (CSAE), or behaviour that threatens the safety and well-being of minors.

This Child Safety Standards Policy outlines our standards, moderation practices, community guidelines, and mechanisms for reporting safety violations across our web platform and mobile applications.

1. Zero-Tolerance Policy Against Harm to Minors

Wisppal strictly prohibits any content, communications, or user behaviour that exploits, endangers, or harms minors. Prohibited activity includes, but is not limited to:

• Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM): Storing, publishing, sharing, or linking to graphic, non-graphic, generated, or illustrative CSAM/CSAE.
• Child Grooming or Exploitation: Using Wisppal's comments or book publishing features to manipulate, groom, or solicit inappropriate contact with minors.
• Sexualisation of Minors in Literature: Book submissions, poems, content, or discussions that feature explicit sexual depictions involving minors or non-consensual content targeting youth.
• Cyberbullying & Harassment: Harassing, intimidating, or exposing private details (doxxing) of minor users.

2. Content Moderation & Monitoring

To maintain compliance with global child safety laws - including the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), European Union Digital Services Act (DSA), and Google Play Developer Policies - Wisppal employs reactive moderation strategies:

• Human Moderation: Our moderation team reviews flagged user content, books, comments, profile descriptions, and reports on a continuous basis.
• Immediate Removal & Suspension: Any account found creating, uploading, or attempting to distribute CSAM or grooming behaviour will face an immediate, permanent ban from the Wisppal site and app without warning.

3. Mandatory Reporting & Legal Compliance

Wisppal complies strictly with global child protection regulations:

• United States (NCMEC): In accordance with 18 U.S.C. § 2258A, Wisppal promptly reports any identified instance or suspicion of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) or child exploitation involving US users or infrastructure to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline.
• United Kingdom (IWF & CEOP): As a UK-based platform, Wisppal complies with the UK Online Safety Act. We report confirmed or suspected child sexual abuse material to the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) and escalate immediate safety threats to the National Crime Agency's Child Exploitation and Online Protection Command (CEOP) and local UK law enforcement.
• Data Preservation: In all cases, relevant account data, IP logs, and evidence are preserved to assist law enforcement agencies in formal investigations.

4. Age Eligibility & Account Safeguards

• Minimum Age Requirements: Wisppal is strictly intended for creators who meet or exceed the minimum legal age of digital consent in their jurisdiction (13+ in the United States and UK; 13-16+ depending on European Union member state regulations). As outlined in our Terms and Conditions, users under 13 years of age are strictly prohibited from creating an account or accessing the platform.
• Third-Party Identity & Age Gating (OAuth): To prevent underage registration and maintain platform integrity, Wisppal utilises OAuth 2.0 authentication systems including Google, Meta (Facebook), LinkedIn, and Notion. By requiring users to authenticate through these established third-party providers, Wisppal leverages their existing, industry-standard identity checks, account security protocols, and age-gating mechanisms to ensure that accounts meet minimum platform maturity standards before accessing our community. Refer to our Privacy Policy to learn more about the data we collect.
• Safety Controls: To further safeguard younger writers from unwanted solicitations, Wisppal provides granular safety tools, including options to block abusive accounts, report inappropriate comments, and limit visibility on personal drafts (books can be set to private).

5. How to Report a Child Safety Concern

We encourage our community to immediately report any content or behaviour that violates these standards.

In-App & On-Site Reporting

1. Click the Report button (flag icon) located on any book, comment, or user profile.
2. Select Child Safety / Harm to Minors as the reason.
3. Submit additional details if applicable.
